Mongolia is a somewhat nice country. My parents like it more than me. It has made me more sick than in any other place I have been. There are some great places to visit though. There is a giant metal statue of Chinggis (Genghis) Khan. It is out in the country side maybe a 2 and a half hours two way trip. I have a wonderful driver named Enkha. There will also be many ger (yurt) camps that you can stay in if you go to the country side but you will need to reserve a ger or two. Most gers have 4 beds. It is a nice p,ace to go to escape pollution. It will take about 1-6 hours to reach any ger camps in the outskirts of UB. The roads are very bumpy so make sure to sit in the back if you get car sick. There is also a National Park called Terelj which is huge and is really populated. It takes about 1 hour. Most ger camps will supply you with breakfast, lunch and diner but always check if they do before going. The top three most bought and eaten snacks by the foreign teachers are 1.Chips 2.Candy 3.Happy Cow. The food that the ger camps will serve are usually mutton, beet salad and other famous mongolian foods. If you are visiting mongolia I hope this post helped.
